School

We welcome you to our school! We welcome all visitors to the web site of Saint Joseph's Polish School in Denver, Colorado!

The Polish School teaches Polish language, geography, culture, and history to children of Polish descent born in the USA. We also organize various fieldtrips and celebrations of Polish national holidays, in order to expose the children to the culture of our ancestors.

The school has a varying number of grades, from preschool to elementary school eight grade. The number of active grades is dependent on the ages and abilities of the children. The children are tested by the teachers at the beginning of the school year, in order to assign each child to the correct grade. During the last few years, we have been seeing an enrollment of around 60-100 children. The classes are held after the Polish Holy Mass on Sundays (around 11:45am), and last 2 hours 30 minutes (three periods of 45 minutes each, with 10 and 5 minute recess).

Our teacher group is composed of educators who were born and studied in Poland.
The school program is based on books and exercises recommended by the Polish Teacher Association in USA.

The school is located next to Saint Joseph's Church, north of downtown Denver, between highways I-25 and I-70. From I-70, take the Washington St. exit, go north on Washington St., then turn at the lights into 47th Avenue west (left), then into Pearl St. south (left), and go to the end of the street. The school is located on the right side of the street, on the corner. Parking is available around the school building, or on neighboring streets.
